OUR PERSPECTIVE

Daisy Margarita Bar delivers an elevated Mexican cantina experience to LA's Sherman Oaks neighborhood. To transform the 100-seat space on the busy Ventura Boulevard thoroughfare, Proprietor Matt Egan tapped Alexa Nafisi-Movaghar of Adean Studios who also designed Egan's Los Feliz restaurant, Mírate. With the traditional vaquero as a beacon of inspiration, Adean utilized mixed textures and layered colors to create a rustic Mexican tavern experience that's equally glamorous and lowbrow. Oil painted portraits, taxidermy, neon signage and other vintage finds, each hand-selected by Egan and sourced predominantly from Mexico, fill the dimly lit space. A custom-built jukebox serves as a focal point, accented by fringe, leather and interior wood paneling characteristic of a dive bar setting. In its design approach Adean upcycled elements from the former tenant including the existing wood, tables and booths––retrofitted to align with the space's new vision. Adean applied a bold color palette of vibrant greens and yellows, balanced by the building's previous hacienda detailing and terra cotta accents.
