Adean Studios was founded in 2019 by Alexa Nafisi from her West Village apartment.
The formation of Adean is a culmination of industry experience dating back to Alexa’s first job at Otto Walker Architects in Park City, Utah, followed by Studio Volpe while pursuing Interior Design at the Academy of Art Institute in San Francisco.
Alexa’s focus on hotels and restaurants began when she joined AvroKO. While at Avroko, Alexa managed hospitality projects around the world from the U.S. to Mexico to Abu Dhabi.
Alexa relocated to New York where she spent one year with AvroKO New York and then joined Soho House.
While at Soho House, Alexa focused on revitalizing existing Soho House locations, and designing new Houses being launched in North America, including Soho House Austin and Soho House Nashville.
And in 2019, Adean Studios was born.
“ I began my career in Architecture by hand-drafting. Sketching was and still is the best way for me to communicate my ideas. It is the fastest way for me to explain new concepts to my clients as well as work through construction details while on-site with contractors. It is my favorite tool. ”
“ Our process quite literally started on the floor of our 6th story walkup in Manhattan. Hand sketches and trace paper lined the walls of our 450 sqft apartment. Stone samples were used as coffee coasters and hot plates while leather samples were used as mouse pads. The business was integrated into every square inch of the apartment both physically and mentally. Needless to say, we were invested and we still are. “
Fast forward to today, Adean is a dynamic Interior Design Studio with projects across the United States and around the world. The studio focuses on concept-driven narratives that not only create unique and inspiring interiors but also challenge the everyday user and experience.
The studio’s approach is to collaborate and participate - from the integration of large structural pieces to the plateware, stemware, and salt and pepper shakers. Adean truly believe every piece matters when striving for a cohesive concept driven, unique space.
We strive to interpret your comforts, discomforts, inspirations and ideas into something real and livable. We infuse elements informed by the local connection, vintage finds, travel, and the ever-changing world around us. We focus on architectural finishes and layouts with the juxtaposition of found elements against modern fixtures.

Features projects include High Country Motor Lodge in Flagstaff, Arizona opening summer of 2022, The San Francisco Wine Trading Company & Luxury Wine Retail Experience opening in November of 2022, as well as a high end residential project to be complete in September of 2022.
